APLEND originated as a merger of individually operating entities in the Tatras region in order to extend the offer to their customers and build a network of facilities of comparable quality in attractive tourist regions of Slovakia and Central and Eastern Europe. Entities forming APLEND have operated in tourism businesses in Slovakia for 15 years by organizing trips of a travel agency and in the last 7 years also by running their own accommodation and catering facilities. Despite the prevailing economic crisis, the operations of the network APLEND have not only maintained but also further improved their performance – they expanded, attracted more customers, while maintaining the sales prices.

The Strategic Plan of the company for the coming period is to expand its offer by more facilities providing accommodation in apartments in the High Tatras and Low Tatras, in Liptov, in the eastern and southern Slovakia. International development is focusing on mountain resorts in neighbouring countries and seaside resorts on the Black Sea coast.

In addition to the development of accommodation facilities, the company focuses on winning new clients so that the capacity is always optimized. Therefore, on the potential source markets it creates branches promoting APLEND network facilities. In the nearest future the company APLEND si having negotiations regarding opening a branch in Kiev, with focus on the Ukrainian, Russian and in general post-Soviet market.
